Only one line? That realy sucks.
In Anna's one we could see three lines. This one is **bleep** or maybe I could make it bigger and don't know how.
Sorry about that.

Totally agree! I too tried to make it bigger but can't find a way.
That 1 line really makes no sense at all??
Phone is C6-01

Hi, I just downloaded Symbian Belle for my C7. It seems to be better than Anna was (still testing it out), but one thing which is immediately evident is the calendar widget - 1 line entry!
Who decided to show one entry? When will there be an update to this rather than trying other apps (ie. ComingNext)?
Cheers,
rcmonde

Yes, that really is crazy. We need to be able to see 3-4 upcoming events. Only one line/event makes that widget unsusable. And it is one of the most important widgets for me!

I think the Calendar widget is bugged: there is only 1 line vissible in the widget + you can use it only once. If I want to add it to another screen, it's not in the widget list anymore.

I think (by the moment) this is the winner: the worst widget (by useless) in this nice firmware, in my opinion.
It doesn't even scroll to see other events.
Why didn't they do it as the email widget? for example. You can enter directly to the inbox by pressing in the title or scrolling up or down and enter the exact mail you want. Is that that hard?
Who were the testers, anybody saw this anytime? Incredible.

I hope it is just a bug they are going to correct inmediately.
What did they do with this nice widget?

@ Louvis
I don't understand? The image you included is showing the calender with three lines/appointments?

I apologise if my pic has generated confusion. That pic is from a video found in youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCWAV7KAFn4
And it's from a previous version of Belle as it can be seen on the video.

That widget is called the Calendar-Agenda. I individually installed it and it works well with the final release of Belle.
08-Feb-2012 11:15 PM
Where did you get it from? Never heard of that.
09-Feb-2012 12:58 AM
It can be found from web. I think it's from leaked version of Belle. There is only one problem, without developer certificate or hacked phone you cannot install it.

So they had something perfect but screwed it up?
09-Feb-2012 07:44 AM
so anyone know when they will provide the update for calendar widget.. in which we can see three entries as well as can check other date entries just by clicking on the header.. as shown in the video at above specified link....

One line of calendar events/to-do's is truly terrible. Thanks for helping me miss and forget things Nokia.

If you can't wait for the Belle calendar widget to be improved you could try Coming Next. I'm going to give it a go.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's what happens.
I don't know what's going on with Nokia. They don't really have a very bad hardware, but definately they end ruining it with the firmware.
Who are your testers, do you have any?
My knowledge is only as a heavy user of your products (seriously thinking of a change) but many of us (simple consumers) could tell you if what you programmed works or not.
I could be one of your software testers.
I know is not easy to do all this stuff but months and months waiting for an update and when finally rolls out has such big issues.
Why spending so much time making thousands of variants? (E7 pink, blue, fireworks colour, rainbow colour...), isn't it the same hardware? So the firmware should be the same, or if I change my dark grey E7 cover into a pink one, should I change the firmware too?
Maybe all that amount of time could be used in refining the final firmware.
It seems to be always the same thing, happened to my N97, incredible teasers, and the reality had nothing to do with them.
Thousands of complains about the malfunction and really long wait for non well finished updates.
Time goes by and in a few years no one remembers it because another better, bigger, nicer product rolls out and... we buy it.
What happened with my 400€ N97 that never worked well? I still have it.
Is it the same I can expect to happen to my 600€ E7?
I am not asking for an impossible, I only want what I have paid for. A correctly working (very expensive) phone.
E7 is mostly a work phone (for me). Working = various calendars and many entries in each of them? I guess yes.
So, what should I do with a widget as such?
Sorry about the extension of the post but I think I'm having a Déj vu.

I have a Nokia E6 upgraded to Belle, and guess what: I have the widget with 3 lines. But honestly, I like the small one better because of the smaller screen of the E6 ![]()
