Hi,
I have a doubt here. Nokia PC suite/communication centre does not have any time of its own and it doesnot have any mechanism to check if the DayLight Saving Time (DLS) is on or off on your phone and pc. Its just a bridging component between your phone and pc. It has nothing to do with your region's DSL Time.
Its upto you, to make sure that your phone and pc has the same time during your region's DLS Time. It may be an issue with your pc settings or the phone you have connected, not all the phones have DaylightSaving(May be S40 phones to be precise).
I am afraid, Nokia PC Suite/Communication has a role to play in TIME related things.
May be i am wrong also. Awaiting for forum experts to comment ![]()

The problem arose after having installed the PC Suite 7.1.40.1. a week ago.
The PC is running at GMT +1 and so is the phone (6300). No time zone settings were changed on either.
The 6300 does not have any DLS setting, so time ( not time zone) was changed on the phone back in October going from summer-time to normal time. That is the way to do it, wright?

My settings in Windows and on my handy are definitively correct (GMT+1). There must be an issue with the nokia software. :-(

Hi,
Sorry to hear that you are having the same problem. Since installing 7.1.40.1 my system will no longer synch with my phone (6120). There are m,any, many people expereiencing a variety of problems since the upgrade of PC Suite.
Also see postings re: "Unable to load progress interface"PC Suite not synchin" etc
I have sought advice from Nokia - they don't have any and appear not to want to try to find a solution as they are not responding any of the issues on the discussion boards by saying that they are attempting to find the problem and a solution.
People with 5800E 71, N97, and on one could go, and with a variety of operation systems (XP, XP Pro, Vista , W7) are complaining about the same range of problems since upgrade of PC Suite. The evidence points to a problem in the Upgrade.
It would appear that the only person to have satisfactorily solved the matter was able to reinstall the OLD version which was still in his/her Download Files folder.
Some suggestions have been to install the OVI Suite - this does not work either as it does not load the calendar function.

I tried doing an uninstall of 7.1.40.1 and installed the 7.1.30.8 ( my previously installed version - which it during installation would upgrade to 7.1.30.9). This (7.1.30.9) also displayed the problem of entries in the calendar i PC Suite being shifted in time (-1h) on the connected phone. Entries created on the phone get shifted +1h in PC Suite.
Both PC and phone have time zone as GMT+1.
Does anyone have a clue?
Is it a (new) known problem for which NOKIA is preparing a fix?

So what might have been fixed for some by 7.1.40.1 (1hour shift) introduced the same problem for others.

Now I tried going back to version 7.1.30.8 but still the same problem of 1 hour difference in calendar entries on the phone (6300) and the PC Suite Calendar (Windows Xp Sp3).
Both phone and PC are at GMT+1.
Does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem that originated by installing 7.1.40.1?

I have a semi-working walkthrough.
Maybe it doesn't happen for everyone, but after you sync the appointments and the show up in the wrong time in the phone, when you double click the said appointment in Outlook and "Save&Close" it, it shifts back one hour in Outlook as well!
If you move it forward manually and sync it again - it will be 'fixed' in the phone.
It's a hassle because you have to do it manually each time you create new appointments.

Whoops, should've read your post more carefuly.
Sorry I couldn't help, I'm suffering myself since this 'workaround' is pretty tiresome.

Also in Melb & also 2 hr time difference on my 6300. Phone calender meetings always 2 hours behind Outlook Calender after a Synch( via Ovi). If meeting set on Phone then is +2hrs in Outlook.
After trying everything and failing rang the Customer care centre (somewhere in Asia). Guy tried hard but in the end the solution was too "lie' to the computer and tell it I'm in Fiji( GMT +12) vs Melb(GMT+10 + DST- is effectively GMT +11).
Had to reset the time after inputting GMT +12. Turn phone off/On. Run yunch and for now all OK
6300 was a new work phone 3 weeks ago old one died. Old one was Synching perfectly so issue is with phone

cricfancy@3 I think there is definitely a PC Suite problem here. Evidence: Consider the following setup.
Nokia 6303 and Nokia 6300, both set to the same time as the PC (all three devices the same). I set up meetings in Outlook and sync to the phones (both of them).
Both phones have the same appointments, both at the correct (same) times.
Look at the calenders in PC Suite, and the 6303 appointments are correct. The 6300 appointmenyts are 9 hours adrift (show 9 hours later in the PC Suite calendar representation). They are the same on the phones and Outlook. It's just PC Suite that shows them adrift and only on one of the phones.
Deletion and re-sync etc does not fix this.
So something is screwy in PC Suite for sure - for one of my phones. But it doesn't affect the appointments in the phones or Outlook, only in the calendar as displayed by PC Suite. Clearly a PC Suite issue

I have the 2330 and was also having this problem. I managed to get sychronisation by first of all making the phone's timezone the same as the computer's (on my phone the TZ selection is just below where you enter the time. There is another setting just below that where you can input DST settings and make the phone see the same time as the computer. (Remember to reset again when DST ends!)

For those who stumble upon this. I had a 1h difference between my Outlook calendar entries and the phone although both are at UTC+1, DLS +0.
