Hi!

I solved one problem with my phone's N97 connection to PC via USB (I use windows XP). Sometimes I couldn't see my phone in PC, when I connected it via USB and I had to switch my phone off and and connect so. It started to charge and when I switched it on I can see it. I tried it in several PC but problem was the same and I wrongly thought that problem is in my phone.

I solved this problem. This problem isn't because of N97, pc suite nor ovi suite but is caused by portable device driver in PC. I don't know why, but when you'll connect N97 to PC, PC will install two portable device drivers for your phone one standard and one nokia and this causes problems. Solution is simply. You have to disable one of this driver, but don't to uninstall it, because it will install with next connection again! Only disable in any hardware profiles. And which to disable? I disabled standard MTP device driver and use nokia driver last version 7.0.54.0 from date 23.11.2009 and since then all's been working perfectly

Hi, I'm having this same problem, can you tell me how to disable this driver?

I found out it is not necessary to disable this driver, but is necessary change driver type for MTP device. Windows automatically use his oun driver, but this one is old and not good for N97. You can change it in system properties. choose tab Hardware, there click on Device manager and there go to portable devices and there check installed drivers. Probably there is driver from microsoft and this one You have to change for driver from nokia.

Hello, I have a similar problem. My phone works with PC Suite via Bluetooth, but not via USB cable.
PC Suite says the phone is connected through an incorrect mode, even if I choose "PC suite" on connection.
The cable works, I can navigate the phone contents through the browser in Windows, but PC Suite don't want to hear about that.
I tried to update cable drivers, nothing changed since.
If you have any suggestion, feel free to send them!

Hi,try plugging the usb into another usb port on your computer,that might work =)
