I just installed the PC Suite software (Nokia_pc_suite_7_26_0) onto my Dell Latitude D510 using XP Pro. I'm connecting though Bluetooth. I was able to detect phone (6650) and make connection. After that, my PC hangs...CPU is at 100%. I have narrowed to the PCSuite software running. If I kill the that process the CPU is back to normal.
Help!

I have the same problem on a Dell Latitude D810. Bluetooth on.
Managed to get it to work with bluetooth off but still with issues.
This only started happening after the latest PC Suite update! Might need to go and find an older version...

ness...for completeness this is PC Suite updated a few days ago, version 7.1.28 (.exe properties page)
running on Windows XP over standard Dell Toshiba bluetooth on a Latitude D810 (and I know that is a flakey piece of hardware/software in itself - bluetooth gives no end of problems).
This problem is definitely introduced by the latest version/update.
Apps run file when started manually (e.g. PCSync2, ImageStore, CommunicationCentre). Best Nokia devs go away and look at what was added and do some more testing over bluetooth...

Hi,
Is it happening only with Nokia 6650 phone? Or with other phones also?

Mine is the N95 8GB.
I think the problem is definitely at the PC Suite end.

Hi,
Could you try this:
1. close PCSuite application (e.g via Task Manager)
2. Open My Computer > Nokia Phone Browser > select your phone > File > Rename > set some short device name > OK
Then re-start PCSuite application...does it help?
And does the problem happen only with bluetooth (or also with USB)?

this worked! however I had to also uninstall and re-install PCSuite and delete the portable deive in the hardware mgr. for it to work.
thanks!

Thanks miksu. The change to a short device name seems to have fixed the issue and I can now sync my phone successfullly. I don't use a USB cable with my phone so can't answer that side of the question for you.

Try this:
For me the renaming did not work, unfortunately.

The problem also appears with USB cable and other phone models (e.g. 5500 Sport). But your work-around did help.
Thanks alot!

For me the problem occured even without installing new version of PCSuite. I already had 7.1.26.0 and all worked fine for 2 months almost and suddenly stopped working. Your solution helped! I'm using Bluetooth conection only.
But why it is causing that kind of problem? Will this be fixed with next version of PCSuite?
Thanks,
Adam
