Every time I try to connect my phone (Nokia 6822) to the computer, the PC Suite shows the following message:

"PC Suite does not recognise the connected phone. The connection between the PC and the phone failed, error code 0x80043605. Switch off your phone, switch it on and try again."

I have done as intructed a couple of times. I have also tried to re-intall the programme a couple of times but got the same result every time.

Does anyone know how to sort this problem out?

Which version of PC Suite are you using? If not the latest - download it from http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite and try with that one.

I have tried to intall the latest version of PC Suite via the Nokia Web site. That came up with the same error.

Hi mfonseca!

Can you post your network and firmware version? You can get your firmware version by entering *#0000# on the phone in standby.

Firstly, make sure the PC Suite is the correct version for your model of phone.

For Windows - in Device Manager go into the properties of the specific infrared transmission device installed into your PC. In the Advanced tab, change the infrared tranceiver type to Vishay TFD, and reduce the speed significantly by changing the Speed Enable to a value of 9600.

Reducing the speed is likely to help if you are experiencing Infrared drop-outs in Windows. Nokia PC Suite has higher standards than Windows though - so it won't connect at all unless it has infrared conditions it's happy with. You may wish to alter the minimum-turn-around time if the last two suggestions don't work.

I used to have the same problem with my Nokia 6100, then I tried the following solution from http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=979679&page=1 and it worked:

go to
control panel --> system --> click hardware tab --> device manager.......

You must choose ->> Infrared Transceiver Type = Vishay (6101E) <<- in properties your IrDA

After trying other suggestions here, this turned out to be the winner. I had already reduced my speed to 9600, but after I changed to vishay 6101E as you suggested, I was able to push the speed way back up to its default setting with no problem.

I wa sgetting the same error code and changing to Vishay TFD did it instantly (at 115k)

You should pput this note in he main instructions instead of scouring the net and forums for it.

Thank you very much maclurek ! Your suggestion worked. I had my IrDa working perfectly, but after Windows re-install I didn´t rememeber how I got my connection working. Now I´m gonna remember!

PS. The change takes time to react. It is important to do the get connected steps again!
