Hi everybody
Just when I thought PC Suite 7 was working fine with my Nokia 6288 and syncing the calendar to my Sony Laptop (Using Vista) it has now started giving me all sorts of problems !
Basically every time I run a sync a new calendar name turns up in Vista calendar and there is no data in it, even though the PC Suite Sync screen reports that x number of data items have been transfered, I have tried creating a new calendar name first and then selecting that when going through the "sync settings" process; but to no avail; currently I am unable to transfer any data to my PC calendar and I have no idea what to try next.
Technical stuff is as follows:-
Nokia 6288 (RM-78)
Firmware version 6.10
PC Suite 7 ver 7.1.18.0 (13/01/09)
Sony Laptop VGN-NR11S/S with Vista 32 bit Operating System Version 6.0 to Service Pack 1
Any thoughts / suggestions would be welcome

Thanks for the suggestion; however I don't have Outlook on my Laptop; I assume Microsoft expect us Vista users to use the calendar that they provide as part of the Vista software package.
Anyway the sync to the Vista calendar used to work perfectly well; then either something in the Nokia PC Suite software update (now version 7) or some update buried in the Vista software has created a problem.
I may have to give up expecting to keep an updated version of my Nokia calendar on my PC but it is irritating to say the least !!!
Any other suggestions . . . anybody ?

Hi,
While upgrading your pc suite have you updated without uninstalling your old pc suite ???
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then
Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc.
If your phone supports create new sync settings, create a new sync settings and then try this

Hi,
Before using Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, make a backup copy of all your personal content that is stored in the same folder as Nokia PC Suite.
When i tried googling, i found this link, i am not sure, if it could help you.

Well thanks for the input; I found the cleanup software and used this; but as far as I can tell this didn't do anything that could not be achieved by uninstalling the various Nokia PC Suite software manually.
Anyway I did all that and reinstalled all the PC Suite 7 stuff and tried again; with no improvement !!
I have tried various variants in the sync settings but I still have the same problems, usually I get a brand new calendar created for me in Vista with nothing in !! Occassionally I manage to get some data (meetings) to transfer but this excludes all the birthdays and anniversaries set up in the phone !
It's all pretty hit and miss with no consistent result from a specific change in sync settings.
I think I will give up with Vista . . . I am now going to try the new Ovi on line account to see how I fare with that !!
Thanks anyway for trying to help

Hi,
Thanks for your comment, I assume that too . . . but it seems it doesn't give any (many) others a problem.
I have now given up using the PC Suite to try and syncronise with my laptop and am instead using My Ovi; this is much easier to use and doesn't require a connection to the computer at all . . I would recommend it to anybody who has been having problems syncing to the Vista Calendar.
Thanks again for your interest.
