Hello everyone!

I use Windows XP Professional Edition SP 2, Nokia PC Suite 6.86.9.0 rus. During installing this PC software on my PC I got an error: dialog box named ServiceLayer shows "Could not start service". Then after installation is complete and I run it I get new error message: "There is no available connection types for your phone". It lasts approximatly for 2 months. I used older versions of Nokia PC Suite before and had no problems. Please explain me what it all means and how can I solve this trouble? Great thanks in advance to everybody who help me

Un-install PC suite and Re-install again. Reboot after uninstallation. Delete "Temp" file found under c:\windows

Thanks babdi I have done everything in a way you were writing about. However, the trouble still exists. Now installation process goes without any errors. Then when it is complete and I run the Nokia PC Suite a message appears: " There is no available connection types for your phone. The wizard closes the application". I still can`t use my mobile to transfer its content. Please explain me how to solve the trouble?

I am at loss to understand your problem.Please wait till someone reads and gives a solution.
However give a last try. Go to control panel > add remove programs > Nokia connectivity cable driver > remove
Then reconnect your phone through USB cable. Your PC will reinstall all the necessary drivers and finally give a message "Your hardware is ready to use". Start PC suite and see if you are able to connect

There's a problem with connecting my phone N3110C (via USB) to the PC Suite (on Win XP) in NOKIA MODE.

I keep getting the windows message "Cannot Install this Hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware: Nokia 3110 Classic USB Phone Parent. An error occurred during the installation of the device. Fatal error during installation of this device"

No such problem with the previous versions of PC Suite.

Even i am facing issue in installing the Nokia PC Suite 0n Vista 32 bit Ultimate...

uninstall the pc suite clearly. then restart you pc then re-install pc-suite again. please wait coz it takes minutes.

after installation, re-start your pc again then open pc suite. just leave your pc dont put any command because at that time your pc is refreshing its drivers.

Thanks guys for helping. I have already come back from business trip so only now I can do according to your recommendations. Babdi I removed Nokia connectivity cable driver then reconnected my phone through USB cable. My PC started reinstalling all the necessary drivers however I got a message "It was impossible to install this device. There was a trouble during the device instalation process. Your device (Nokia N72) can work in wrong way". I consider Nokia connectivity cable driver is the cause of this trouble. What must I do now? Can I download Nokia connectivity cable driver separately?

I have experienced exactly the same problem, running Vista Business SP1 on a 6-month old ASUS laptop. Several versions of Nokia PC Suite have returned the same error message: There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit.

I have just followed all steps in earlier posts and downloaded and installed PC Suite 6.86.9.3 English version and am still getting the same error. I had thought that this might have been caused by SP1, but am now not so sure. Earlier versions (pre 6.84.x) worked without problem, but now the installer checks to ensure it is the latest version and these newer ones all fail at the same point - connection. Any more suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

There is problem with Vista users. You will have to wait till Nokia provides a fix or you can update in a XP machine.

Babdi I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Nokia PC Suite but I`m still getting the same message " There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit". This is a perfect error. I can`t understand only one thing why Nokia software developers are unable to resolve this trouble. It has place in many users who have no possibility for full using benefits of Nokia devices. Any suggestions?

I've got the same problem and I resolved it doing this:
With 7zip I unzipped the PC Suite.exe file, into the new folder (with the name”PC Suite”) I found and install the PCSS.exe and after that I installed the PC Suite.exe that was into the “PC Suite” folder...
Voilá..

I'm using Vista Business SP1 and had been unable to use Nokia PC Suite for the past several months. After following these simple steps, my E90 and Outlook can now talk to one another again! Many thanks for this solution.

Thank you very much, shurykan! I have done everything as it was written in your post. I hoped I should get working PC Suite but, unfortunately, it still not works for me. I installed Nokia PC Suite without any problems but when I connected my mobile to PC using USB cable I got the error message: `There was a problem during new device`s installation process. This device can work improperly`. Every time when I delete Nokia Connectivity Cabel Driver and then reinstall it by connecting mobile to PC I get that error message. Maybe there is a need to fix something in system registry?

Uninstall pc suite and try again but this time you have to install in order VC80_x86, CCD, PCCS and Nokia_PC_Suite (they're in the PC Suite folder).

I've tried to do it all in order given by you. There is no changes yet.
I keep getting that message:" there was a problem during new device installation process. This device can work improperly".This occurs when I connect Nokia phone to PC with cable.I tried my phone model N72 and my brother's one 6230i there was the same result. It appeared the message written above.
The most important thing is I have been unable to use Nokia PC Suite since January of this year.
