I'm using (K)ubuntu too. It seems to be very popular with younger people, why Nokia hasnt started tapping into the new kid's on the block.
Younger people are more computer savvy, Nokia should aim for the future.
If they made nokia suite open sourced, it would improve much faster having a world community working on the project for free..
I need Nokia Suite instead of a hacked version of it.
Please Nokia, for your future..

Me too, I'm using ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04, and I have a Nokia N96, I'm also wondering why there isn't any Linux version for Nokia PC Suite.
I would love to see this coming soon as I don't use Windows that much now, except for work.
Cheers,
Jenson

Time has broken both links. As far as I understand, SugarSync has nothing in store for Nokia or Linux anymore. The Glide OS does list both Symbian and Linux support, but it acts "through the cloud": you synchronize calender, contacts or files over a website where you registered. Assuming they do target your real Nokia calendar and not something you browse to while online.
Anyway, not quite the same as accessing your mobile from your Linux PC. There are a lot of tools for that listed at TuxMobil. I have not tried any.

firstly there is no pc suite for linux/ubuntu available from nokia. However latest version of ubuntu gives support to use mobile modem to **bleep** internet. Just connect the mobile through wire to pc and the operating system will ask few questions and you are connected.
Get a card reader costing hardly anything and use it to copy files from pc to card and put the card in mobile to use the files in mobile and vice versa. this is useful to copy songs, videos and other files including third party programmes and games etc to be copied. Programmes can be installed from the card in mobile.
Now to take a back up - back up on the card and then copy it to the pc by putting the card to pc card reader.
Most of the requirements can be managed like this. Of course it will have its own limitations. But other fanciful features fo pc suite are otherwise not very essential.
I found ubuntu better and mangeable without a pc suite.
I am still not understood reason for nokia not giving support to linux.

I switched to ubuntu too. Its better and faster in many ways. It was VERY dissapointing as I found out that such a large company like nokia doesnt support linux. ![]()
I know there are mobiles that does and now I consider switching my mobile brand too! Please wake up nokia!! It's year 2010!

I am using Ubuntu and i was able to get the data from my Nokia Mobile to my PC ..
Steps to Get data on to ur Linux PC
1) Connect the USB cable from mobile to your PC .
2) Select Data Storage from the options which come in the Mobile.
3) Do a "fdisk -l" in command prompt which list all the disks along with the external disk of the Mobile.
4) Mount the disk of the Mobile to a folder.
5) Now you can transfer the files from this folder.

Hello,
I developed an alternative for Linux - at least for S60 phones. It is available here. It offers an extensive message management (with a history browser, "chat"-function and statistics), contact management (add/edit/delete contacts) and a basic file management.
Feel free to contact me about any issues and general feedback.
