Hello 

My nokia and my mac don't seem to talk to each other.

The phone is indeed recognized by the application (i have downloaded the plug in from the nokia web site).

the connection is apparentely happening but no data are changing sides.

Things I've added in my calendar on my computer don't updated on my phone and vice-versa.

Please help!

Hi there, after many days of headaches, I think i have finally worked out the solution to synchronising my N8 using Isync and the ical on my Mac 10.6.8.  My phone and ical didn't seem to talk to each other either, even after I re-installed Isync and made sure latest plugin was installed.  I then noticed that PC suite on my phone wasn't syncing with my Mac.  Until.....I did the following:

-on My N8 I made sure that all my calendar entries were saved as PC Suite and not Personal or My Calendar or My Calendar 2. You can easily change existing entries to PC Suite by going into "edit" of your calendar entry, touch on the top option to save as PC Suite. Or for new entries just make sure it is saved as PC Suite.  All my PC Suite entries have a purple stripe to the left of the entry.

- Then I went into my Macs ical and noticed on the left hand side of the box under "ON MY MAC" there were 3 boxes shaded different colors, being for HOME, WORK AND UNTITLED.  These colors did not match my PC Suite color of Purple as per my N8 calendar.  So I added another box by clicking on the "+" at the bottom of the ical box and up popped a purple box.  I called it PC Suite.

-  I had already paired my phone with my Mac, Hit the Isync and VOILA!!!!!  It worked.  I was just missing that extra little box in my Ical that was to be same color as my N8 calendar saving.I also made sure I ticked all the boxes there, HOME, WORK, UNTITLE AND PC SUITE. 

I KNOW THIS WORKS. N8 ISYNC WITH MAC FOR ALL CALENDAR, NOTES AND TO DO....FINALLY..

I  hope this helps, it sure did for me.

P.S.  Also make sure that USB Connection on N8 is set o Mass Storage for this

I ALSO HAVE FOUND THAT EVERYTIME I DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON THE NOKIA IT CAUSES PROBLEMS WITH I SYNC.  I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY NOKIA SUPPORT THAT I NEED TO REINSTALL THE PLUGIN AGAIN AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, BUT THIS HASN'T WORKED.  THE ONLY THING THAT I FOUND WORKED WAS WHEN I DID A FACTORY RESET ON MY PHONE TO GET RID OF ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES, REINSTALLED THE PLUGIN AND THEN ISYNC WORKED AGAIN.  

AGAIN, I HOPE THIS TOO HELPS.  IT'S AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND ITS THE MAC THATS THE PROBLEM...DOESN'T LIKE TALKING TO OTHER DEVICES
