I think Nokia Software Updater for Mac is more important than Lifeblog!Message Edited by lenny491 on 05-Nov-200704:07 PM
one is easier to do than the other. imagine the horrors if/when software update fails midway. yeah. i'd rather have software update happen on a platform that nokia has much more development maturity... like on the phone itself. over the air updates are possible, and is a feature built into the operating system, though not currently being used.
it is a pain though, you're right, to have to find a windows box to install the nokia tool on, just to update the firmware. luckily, i use my powerbook at work despite having a windows box there for me. so i just boot the windows box when the rumor mill is thrashing about firmware updates, then when the update is finally out i only have to wait a few minutes for windows to finish starting up (you know, a week later).
anywho - there are 2 many perspectives on the priority of either app: 1. necessity (software updater wins) and 2. frequency of use (clearly lifeblog wins).
anyone find it odd that they dont just try to support linux and windows? macs can run well written linux code (try Port or Fink). i would think they could have open sourced their tools to sync up with the phones on linux and have linux and macosx well supported almost immediately. especially if the tools were just a backend service; allowing them to maintain a nice, clean frontend for the hardware/os specific features (like iphoto, itunes, usb-hotplug, etc on the mac)

N95-1 ---> N97-NAM ---> N900 ---> E7-00 + N900 (I use them both)
(N95 was pretty good, N97 had potential but utterly failed to deliver, N900 is absurdly good. Those of you wondering, "should I try N900/Maemo/MeeGo"? The answer is a resounding YES)
