Nokia Lifeblog for mac / osx

Does anyone know of any plans to release a version of Lifeblog for the mac/osx ? Am using this excellent piece of software on a work PC and would love to have it available on the mac powerbook at home... please Nokia :-)

Re: Nokia Lifeblog for mac / osx

Any one any idea ? Or a recommendation of an alternative application that does the same thing on OSX ? Really like the simplicity of Lifeblog - can't believe that there isn't an alternative on a Mac !

great, then i move we call it to a vote!
no, seriously, i'm in favor of this too, of course. i've been a bit upset that the n95 software can't be removed since i can't use it. better than removing the software would be enabling the use of it on any platform.

is there developer documentation available for this? i'd be interested in buying something to do this if necessary, so i'd like to know if 3rd party devs at least have the opportunity...

I think Nokia Software Updater for Mac is more important than Lifeblog!

one is easier to do than the other. imagine the horrors if/when software update fails midway. yeah. i'd rather have software update happen on a platform that nokia has much more development maturity... like on the phone itself. over the air updates are possible, and is a feature built into the operating system, though not currently being used.

it is a pain though, you're right, to have to find a windows box to install the nokia tool on, just to update the firmware. luckily, i use my powerbook at work despite having a windows box there for me. so i just boot the windows box when the rumor mill is thrashing about firmware updates, then when the update is finally out i only have to wait a few minutes for windows to finish starting up (you know, a week later).

anywho - there are 2 many perspectives on the priority of either app: 1. necessity (software updater wins) and 2. frequency of use (clearly lifeblog wins).

anyone find it odd that they dont just try to support linux and windows? macs can run well written linux code (try Port or Fink). i would think they could have open sourced their tools to sync up with the phones on linux and have linux and macosx well supported almost immediately. especially if the tools were just a backend service; allowing them to maintain a nice, clean frontend for the hardware/os specific features (like iphoto, itunes, usb-hotplug, etc on the mac)

Re: Nokia Lifeblog for mac / osx

LifeBlog is a nice concept, but many of it's uses are already there on the mac - the iCal, iSync and iPhoto/iMovie these are the apps where you keep all the data.
Nokia's strategy is quite right - support those data houses with plug-ins and Nokia Media Transfer.
So that, essentially, Nokia phones become fully supported by native and independently developed apps.
It's also easier to do than also develop all those wonderful apps!
