I have a Nokia 6280 using PC Suite 6.80.20 and Music Manager V 1.0 My laptop is using Windows XP service pack 2. When in music manager, I have all tracks on screen, tick the tracks to be transfered,phone memory is half full, plenty of space left, click on the icon to transfer to phone, this starts briefly (pending, copying, failed) then I get an unknown error! Seemed to work fine with the old version of PC suite, but now nothing but trouble, getting really annoyed!!!

You can set memory settings on Music Manager: Options -> Settings -> Nokia 6280. There you can set how much memory must be left free after music transfer. What setting you have there? How much free memory you have on phone and how big amount of music you are trying to transfer?

Hi there,

I have just bought this phone, and also loaded the software etc.. I have plently of memory, but it wont let me download any mp3 tracks from my PC to phone.... It starts the download then gets to 100% then quickly flashes cancelled! Is this because its downloaded from the pc? How can this be resolved?

Any info would be gratefully received!

When I click on settings in music manager, there isnt another option for my phone. It opens up the settings i.e. General, Conversion, Associations.
My memory is a 1GB memory card, which is only half full, I have about 90 mp3 songs already on my phone from previously using the older nokia software until I started to get problems. I am trying to download about 25 songs on to my phone. This is really starting to wind me up, what is the point of having an mp3 player when you cant put any mp3 files on to the phone!!!!

Hi, when I open the PC suite, click on file manager, click on Kingston (memory card), copy and paste to this, I get a warning,"The Operation Could Not Be Completed".

Driving me insane!!

(Sorry, I do not have solution yet)...Could you answer next questions:
Can you transfer anything to phone memory?

Can you create a new folder to memory card?
(if it is possible, can you transfer anything in that new folder?)

And does the mass storage mode work ok?
(can you transfer same file in that mode?)

I'm having pretty much the same problem on my 6131 - have found that i can copy to the phone memory, though. The music tracks still won't then copy to my SD card, annoyingly 'cause it worked yesterday.. hmm. I've tried everything i can think of and would really appreciate any ideas!
I'm running PC suite 6.70.22, it's the only version that seems to recognise the phone, but i'm not sure this is relevant to the problem anyway as I still can't copy to the card using my Nokia Phone Browser. Memory card is a San Disk 1gb, which I can still create new folders etc in. Any other info that might give a clue?

Hi beckyw,

If you can transfer same file to same folder with Nokia Phone browser but not with Music Manager...then the problem is in Music Manager. Try to change the target folder (where you transfer in memory card) and if that did not help, update your PC Suite to version 6.81 rel 22.

Fixed!
I tried using a new folder, but the old pc suite didn't recognise it; the new one does but will only copy to the folder and not just straight into my SD. Strange!

Hi, I think I've finally solved the problem. When I connect the phone via USB, I'm choosing the "Default Mode", instead of the Data storage Mode, which then lets me gain access to my Kingston memory card!
Figured this out trying to make a folder on the memory card, warning message popped up and stated that the memory card rejected this. Then tried the Data Storage Mode that you suggested, hey presto! It works.
