N95-8gb with Windows Media Player 11

Hi, i dint have much luck getting the mac media transfer working, i have been trying to get Nokia music manager to work, but its really dodgy, and i suffer from the dumb refresh bug.
Has anyone been able to get the N95-8gb to sync with Windows Media Player 11? I remember it worked fantastic with my N91, but it says the N95-8gb is incompatible with my .m4a files. I have the proper CODEC support installed in WMP11 and even used the very cool app MusicBridge to sync my playlists and meta data from iTunes over to WMP, but no dice. It will transfer .mp4 just fine.
Any ideas? Its really irritating not having an easy sync method for my cool new phone, especially with a bunch of smug iPhone users around me :/

Re: N95-8gb with Windows Media Player 11

This is one area that Nokia are losing the battle against Apple, the transfer of media files is poor using the Nokia supplied applications. For all the iPhones failings compared to Symbian S60 product Apple have the best user experience when it comes to connecting a device to a pc/mac, unless Nokia realise that this is key to winning over potential iPhone users then it will lose out...

Were these m4a files itunes plus files? If yes then I believe the current S60 music player will not play them, they do get transferred as valid files and the details for each track can be viewed but the files cannot be played.

The Nokia Media transfer application for the Mac does "convert" these files to allow them to be played (the tag data is not standard) but Windows users do not have anything available from Nokia. There are third party apps out there that can convert the files but I hope Nokia fix this issue on future PC Suite releases. Mac users are catered for so why not Windows users! Nokia seem to think that Mac users use itunes but Windows users use Media Player! Gave up on media player as all my music is m4a/aac format as I want to use both ipod and Nokia platforms..

I was stuck on this for a while but all you need to do is when you plug in your N95 select Media player instead of PC suite and it should recognise your phone immediatley

I *do* get the behaviour you describe BUT after a couple songs the transfer just stops!

I *have* already placed many songs onto the phone, however, WMP11 declares that there is still 2GB of space available - and I'm only trying to add 0.4GB!!
