I have updated yesterday to PCSuite 7.1.30.8. Since then I am not able anymore to synchronize with Lotus Notes 8.0.2. I am using Bluetooth to conect to my Nokia N95. My PC is running on Windowxs XP SP2.
During synchronization of celendar items, Lotus Notes crashes. No further error message is shown.
Is there a possibility to get the version of PCSuite previous to 7.1.30.8. Before this upgrade everythink worked fine.
thanks for any help
Rudolf

Hi,
If your language is french, then issue is already discussed in this forum for which so many customers are expecting the fix.
In the meanwhile, you can google to check PC Suite version 7.1.26.1, which will not have this issue in earlier pc suite ![]()

I have just updated my PC Suite to the newst version. I also have this problem.
Furthermore my problem can be related to that my notes.ini file is in a non standard place.
Phone: N95
PC suite: 7.1.30.9 - Danish
Lotus Notes: 6.5.1 - English
Windows: XP SP3 - English

Hi there,
I had the same problem, but it is not necessary to install a previous version.
Instead, go to the Nokia PC Suite menu item and select "uninstall" (don't worry we are not really going to uninstall the software).
Once this runs, select fix/repair installation.
Once this is finished you should be able to restablish syncing with Lotus Notes. However you may have some overlapping items that have not been updated in the database since the error occured.
Correct any duplicates and then you should be good to go.

James

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it did work.
Here is what I did:
1) Go to Add/remove program in the Control Panel
2) Find Nokia PC Suite and click the Change/remove button
3) Click on repair
4) Open Nokia PC Suite
5) Reset the sync. settings and dobbel check the settings,
6) Sync'ed and got an error message
In previous version I have been able to point to the non-standard location of the notes.ini file. It seems they have removed that options.

Had the same problem after upgrade to 7.1.30.8. Another update to 7.1.30.9 didn't help.
I couldn't point to my Notes.ini - and PC suite could not find my user.id file.
I solved my problem by setting the registry key as described in this pointing to notes.ini

Hello!
I am not a Windows registry guru. Do I have to to create a key named 'Settings' in HKCU/Software/Nokia/PCSuite and then add a string value with name 'notesini' and data 'c:\path\to\notes.ini'?
Thanks
Rudolf

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia\PCSync\Settings in windows registry.
If not there - create a new string - name it notesini and give the path to your notes.ini as value
(eg. C:\lotus\notes\notes.ini )
Please notice: the registry is in ..\Nokia\PCSync not ..\PCSuite.
Hope this helps

Unfortunately it didn't work for me. My Notes 8.0.2 still crashes everytime I try to replicate Calendar.
I did the Uninstall/Install after the PC SUITE Cleanner and created the registry but still have the problem.

Bluecori,
I just fixed my problem but I don't know exactly what did it.
These are the steps I took.
Created the String: Go to Start > Run > regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > NOKIA > PCSync > Settings > "new string value with right bottom" notesini
Double click on the string and enter with the path where to find your notes.ini file.
in my case was C:\notes\notes.ini
Pay attention to avoid using ";" instead of ":" I did it and took a while to find it.
Also I uninstalled completely Notes 8.0.2 and PC Suite ( this one with PC Suilte Cleaner and delete all registries for Nokia). Then I loaded Notes and then PCSuite
Now it's working fine.
Good luck

Hi,
I've the same pbm as you (french version, Lotus Notes 7.0.2, but no crash). So I've uninstalled 7.1.30.9. I've installed 7.0.8.2. I added notesini string in windows registry with the right path in the value. Nevertheless, it's still telling me than the C:\MYPATH\notes.ini does'nt exist wen synchronising.
Last week, before installing 7.1.30.9, the 7.0.8.2 pcsuite was working well.
In addition I've just replaced my 5200 by a 3600.
Any help?
