Lifeblog and Ovi Suite

Need some help. I have been using an N95 since 2007 with Lifeblog. I backup all my data and media with Lifeblog.

I recently made a change to the 5800 XpressMusic and installed the Ovi Suite. How do I backup my sms messages?

Re: Lifeblog and Ovi Suite

Hi kevineu,

You can have a look of the following post (somewhat related to you)

But beware that data once synced with Nokia photos cannot be synced again with Nokia lifeblog and vice versa.

/discussions/board/message?board.id=pcsuite&thread.id=32338

Nokia Lifeblog is quite (g)old application of NOKIA :smileyhappy: No second opinion about this.  But 5800 express music is a quiet new handset which is meant to sync multimedia & your PIM Data with Nokia OVI Suite and Nokia photos :smileyhappy:

I am not saying that you should stop using Nokia Lifeblog, but if you want to synchronize the SMS of your 5800 express music, what you can do is, you can install Nokia Photos on your PC and you can sync only text messages with Nokia Photos and rest(images, videos, amr files etc) you can sync with your existing Lifeblog without any problem.

To synchronize your messages(SMS/MMS) with Nokia Lifeblog, you should have Lifeblog or Nokia Photos application for the phone side.  As far as i know it is device specific and you can't install this application on all the phones which is not possible at all. For example Nokia E 71 mobile also doesn't have either Lifeblog or photos(for device), so this device's messages cannot be synced either with Lifeblog or with Nokia photos.

But as far as 5800 express music device, your text messages can be synced with Nokia photos(although this device does not have lifeblog/photos for the device) :smileyhappy:  Great Na.  I don't have any 5800 but still, this device SMS can be synced with Nokia photos and not with Lifeblog.  FORUM please correct me if i am wrong :smileyhappy:

So my suggestion to your issue is you can sync your multimedia data with Nokia lifeblog(if it supports) and for your messages, you can sync your device with Nokia photos,  but you have to manage between this which is a bit hectic.  Good part of Nokia photos is you can sync only messages(if you want)  of 5800.  If you are ready to take time to manage between Nokia Photos(for messages) and Nokia Lifeblog(for multimedia), i hope you will enjoy both the applications simultaneously.

Even Nokia Photos is advanced version of Nokia Lifeblog, if you wish to migrate its upto you.

Please wait for some of our experts before you migrate.

Hope it may give a rough idea :smileyhappy: to your issue.

Re: Lifeblog and Ovi Suite

Hi kevnieu,

Install Nokia Photos 1.5.242 on your PC, Once its installed, connect your 5800 in pc suite mode with Nokia Photos.  In Nokia Photos goto Tools -> Settings -> Select Synchronisation (This is device specific and will not be shown for all the phones especially for Lifeblog phones like Nokia n95, nokia n 82 etc),

In this option check if your Text messages option is checked, if not select the text message option to sync with Nokia photos.  Once sync is over, you can view your sms in Timeline view of Nokia photos.  Messages will not be shown is Organise view.

Re: Lifeblog and Ovi Suite

Not sure if anyone can help me, but slightly desperate here. I need to stop all of my text messages being sent to another device via email I think. I don't really want that person invading my privacy anymore. I now have the N97 Mini, which replaced the N95.  Can anyone tell me how he did it and how I can stop it. I have spoken to my provider (vodafone) and they told me he had access to my account and that the email attached to it was his. He no longer has authorisation to my account and his email has now been replaced by mine. I also think that Vodafone and this person has breached some sort of law! Please help, thanks.
