When I try to run PC suite I get this message....

This application failed to start because ConnAPI.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I've tried that and still get the same message, it seems the program to launch PC suite isn't there.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi Miksu

I did as you suggested, and reinstalled the prog (latest version). When it told me to conect the phone I did, windows tried to install the driver but couldn't.

At least PC suite starts now but I can't get it to find the phone!

Where do I go from here?

I forgot to add that windows searches for Nokia USB phone parent, but can't find it.

I have the 3250, the cable is whatever came with the phone (in other words I haven't a clue!) System....

windows xp home
build 2600
service pack 2
everything in english
PC suite 6.82.22.0
connectivity cable drivers not installed
pc connectivity solution 6.43.9.0
bluetooth stack ms stack, 5.1.2600 build 2180

I have to get up at 4.30am tomorrow so I can't reply until later in the morning.

I think that problem is somewhere in your PC's USB driver..

Find here manta's message and try it:

IF problem happen again, open Nokia Connection Manager -> is there USB active ??

Thanks miksu, I followed the instructions in the thread and now everything works perfectly!

I've had a computer for years but I'm not what you could call tech savvy, so it really helps when people walk you through things/problems in an easy manner.

you seem to be the guru here. but I doubt even you can help me with my problem!

I have just installed Nokia PC Suite v6.8

I have the same error message as the first user on this thread re connapi.dll being missing

I have searched my local drives for connapi.dll - it isn't there.

I thought maybe the install I got was meant as upgrade so found an old version of pc suite (5.8) and installed that instead.

On running that I got the following helpful error message: "catastrophic failure"

so I then uninstalled all pc suite versions / cleaned using the nokia cleaner tool and even searched and deleted all registry entries referring to nokia. I then tried to re-install but no joy.

it looks like I'm only one of many having this problem: do you happen to know if nokia have acknowledged the issue (is there a bug report forum?) and are they working on a fix?

this is really disappointing : up until now I was nokia's #1 fan
