I have a 6230i version 3.62..running pc suite 6.6

Just wanted to know howlong a back up of everything EXCEPT the memory should take..

Its running at the moment and has so far taken 40mins!!

Ive checked in taskmanager and its still "RUNNING"

Any ideas?

It should not take that long, you should kill the process and retry. Also updating PC Suite may help.

I have seen cases where some content in phone has been too confusing for the Backup application and it gets stuck because it does not seem to know how to ignore the confusing content.

So maybe you can try to move some data to PC using the file manager and delete then some stuff from phone and try again.

BTW, you have 6230i, are you selecting the right mode of USB when you connect the phone ? YOu should answer "reject" to the question that pops up when you connect the phone to make it work with PC Suite.

YOu have Nokia 6230i and when you connect the phone to your PC, there should be a text in phone something like: "allow data transfer", if you answer yes, you will get your memory card visible in Windows Explorer.

If you answer no/reject, your Nokia PC Suite should start to load driver and start to work

I can use phone through Windows Explorer no probs...

In content copier though, its starts doing the Backup then stops at 22% flashes up a message about copyright stuff, then seems to take for ever.. the hihest its got to is 26%

Everyting else appears to work ok, its jst the back up.

Is there anything else i could try ??

It seems that backup gets confused ue to some content, maybe you should try to update to Nokia PC Suite 6.8 and try with that.
(note: with Nokia PC Suite 6.8 the backup process is changed somewhat, you are no longer in charge of backup details, you can only choose between phone memory and/or MMC card.)
