Hello ![]()
Error message: one or more of the recipients contains invalid information
This happens in PC Suite's "Nokia Text Message Editor" after choosing a recipient from the PC Suite Contacts list (itself populated from the phone) and clicking the Send button. The same contacts/numbers work on the phone.
The contacts/numbers appear in the Text Message Editor's "To:" field as (fictitious example to show format)
MyFriend <+919781234567>;
When this is manually edited to +919781234567 then it works.
This problem is similar to the problems reported in threads Suit refuses to send SMS to a "invalid recipient" and PC suite 7.1 "Recipient is not valid" message.
This problem happened with PC Suite 6.84.10.3, nokia 3110c, Outlook 2003, WXP SP2 plus hotfixes; it is still happening after upgrade to 7.1.18.0.
How to workaround? How to find out if it is a known bug and if so how any fix is progressing?
Best

A workaround:
"You can export the contacts as a .csv file and manually copy->replace the invalid character->insert a column as the valid numbers. Then you can import the .csv file into pc suite. When sending SMS, you can choose the "valid" number.
Still quite a lot numbers, but with a decent text editor, it's much easier than editing contacts one by one."

Thanks for the workaround suggestion, Professor ![]()
Unfortunately it is not workable in the usage scenario where the master contacts are in Outlook; every time PC Suite's Synchronise is used to update contacts on the phone from Outlook, the "invalid information" would be re-created.
