Critical error in Content copier

Hi everybody!

Installed the latest version of PC Suite.
When I launch the program it connect to my phone (6111) via Bluetooth.

File manager works, Messages works....but, I can't make the backup.
When i stasrt content copier, it sees my mobile phone but, when i click on "Backup" after 5 seconds it says: "A critical error occurred (0x80400001). Restart your phone and content copier. If this do not help, try restart your pc". But even if I restart both of them it still not working...

THIS IS MAKING ME MAAAAAAAAAAD. I NED TO BACKUP MY CONTACTS!

The strange thing is that with teh previous version of PC suite it worked.

Anyway, I tried to reinstall the previous version but it works no more.

I'm using WinXP SP2
and a Belkin Bluetooth USB key (with WIDCOMM drivers).

Please help me!

THANKS :-)

Re: Critical error in Content copier

I think that you problem causes by some file in your phone. Use File Manager and check does some file include some special characters (like: / \ " | : ? * >) ?

You can also try to transfer all your files to PC (by using File Manager) and check is there any file which cause problems..

Re: Critical error in Content copier

mmm I understand your point of view: in fact it seems that the Content Copier find something on the phone that blocks it.
But I don't think I have any file with special characters...anyway, as soon as I finish to work I'll try to transfer all my files to the PC.

Could be something connected to the "themes"? Now I'm using a Nokia theme, but I've tried to install also unofficial themes...

Re: Critical error in Content copier

I have exactly the same message. But this wad appening after the software update. It seems that there is one table where the data are corrupted. But whith the N95 8Gb the information on the system level is very poor.
In addition I have empty music files, not possible to be deleted, which are existing on the N95.
I think the reason is inside one table, but where ?

Re: Critical error in Content copier

I also have same problem. I have a 6230i and previous version of Nokia PC Suite worked fine.
Is the name that appears in the content copier important? Because in my case it shows ?s????p????? . This is probably because I had changed the phone name in the bluetooth settings and now I can NOT change the name that appears in PC Suite back to "Nokia 6230i". (I used IVT bluesoleil software.)
Also I cannot copy the sounds folder using the "sounds" folder using the file manager. I get message about copyright protection.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Critical error in Content copier

hi plumber_doc .

I posted this thread several time ago now!

Anyway, I didn't find any solution, but to format anr re install everithing. Since then, all worked fine.

Sometimes critical error happens in programs, errors that cannot be resolved without a formatting... :-/
