Hi, I just downloaded the bluetooth driver for XP/ VISTA from the 5800 home page:
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/p
The download is a a single file Nokia5800_XpressMusicBT.INF but VISTA will not permit this to be installed via device manager, it gives an error saying this is not 32bit??
Has anyone sucesffuly installed this bluetooth modem .inf file on VISTA SP2? Thanks

I think it may be necessary to install Nokia PC Suite. I'm also having problems connecting my 6303 via Bluetooth to my PC.
Does anyone else know if you have to install Nokia PC Suite before you can connect your phone to your PC via Bluetooth?
Thanks,

I allready have the OVI installed but eigher I deleted the existing bt connection, or its missing. And just want to get it in again....I just today send a text to Nokia telling that the link on their website is not working.
I think maybe your right that maybe you need the suite or OVI. But its also very good to have.

Hi, its not necessary to have the Nokia phone suite installed to use your phone as a bluetooth modem. I have connected to a n73, N95, N85 and the 5800 using the standard components in VISTA- specifically dial-up networking.
This configuration file is a windows system file but maybe you are right- that its meant for the Nokia application? Eitherway, posting it without any text tile was a major error. You should not need to be an IT specialist to connect to your phone- if there are problems using the file (VISTA gives an error), there should be guidance.

Gracias Sevilla,
I'm very close to a successful connection; the phone 'sees' the PC and the PC recognises that I'm trying to pair the devices, but then the phone is 'rejected' by the PC. I'm just trying to link them both so that I can sync contacts in Outlook. Also the PC doesn't 'see' the phone so you can't select the phone in the 'Add Bluetooth Devices' menu.
I think loading the PC Suite will help me, or I might just use the cable. Irritating that its so hard to get something so simple to work ![]()
Cheers, James

I do beleive loading the PC suite will no change anything. The problem seems tobe bluetooth related. My guess would be that you either did not enter the authecation code correctly or you entered it too slowly (time out).
Watchouf for the error code next time- this will give you more information.
