hi i have a nokia 5233 and i want to format the phone memory as i dont want to go to nokia care. can i format it? is there any option? my phone memory is left with very few memory space but there isnt any thhing in it.i dont know why phone memory left with too little space. pls help

Soft reset/reformat - Type *#7370# and the phone's lock code (Nokia default lock code is 12345). Warning!Soft reset wipes the C drive/phone memory!

As phonehacker mentioned in the post above, the soft reset will wipe your entire phone memory. In case you don't know, it will delete contacts, messages, etc. You should back up what you need using either the onboard backup client or pC suite /Ovi suite.

What do you mean about "nothin in it"? Do you have any messages? Have you used the browser a lot? Do you have any apps installed on the phone memory that you can delete and reinstall on the memory card?

- Browser cache can be cleared, and often if the browser has been used a lot, this will give you quite a few megs back. Messages can be moved to memory card.

HEY THANKS FOR THE HELP.IT WORKED. PREVIOUSLY OTHER FILES WAS  TAKING 50 MB, I DONT KNOW WHY. ONLY 7 MB FREE MEMORY WAS LEFT BEFORE BUT AFTER FORMAT ITS 57 MB. THIS IS NORMAL NA?

There's no special reset-code for S40 phones. You have to take your device to a Nokia Care point.

even though i used the respective code my phone doesn't free up its memory and is not allowing me to run any applications.... please help

Are you using a Symbian smartphone or just a simple Nokia? The code suggested above works for Symbian smartphones only.

If you have an S40 phone and you want to reset it, you'll have to visit your nearest Nokia Care point.

Have you ever cleaned your memory card? If not, do it. Also, you may want to reset your phone to factory settings. It may help.

Does your phone have an active theme? Try setting any of the pre-loaded themes (Menu>Gallery>Themes).

As a last resort a phone reflash/reprogramming might solve the problem but this can only be done by an accredited Nokia Service Center to prevent voiding of the warranty.

My Phone memory keeps fluctuating I have deleted almost every file except my Contacts still..I keep getting the message..memory is low
