hi guys,
i have a problem w/ my 5300 xpress music:

had this phone for quite a while now, and the music player
was fine, but now I encountered an error when using the
player. whenever i select it, it just does the following:

1. "starting music player"
2. "updating library" w/ the progress bar
3. go back to #1, then #2, its just goes on and on and on...

tried reformatting both phone and SD, still the same.
upgraded software to v7.0, same.
prayed a lot, still the same.

i read in a forum that this problem was beyond any solution,
even if you bring it to a Nokia Service Center.
IS THIS TRUE??
if it isn't, can anyone provide a solution, PRETTY PLEASE??

Hi,

Have you tried sending it to a Nokia Care Centre? I think you should try to ask it to be reflashed. Good luck

You got it updated to V7.0? Never heard of that version yet. Can anyone confirm this if this is for real? For Network-branded or Nokia Official?

uhm... what does "reflash" mean sir?
is it the same as restoring the factory settings on my phone?
and will it cost me anything?

Reflashing your phone will mostly wipe up all of the contents stored on your phone memory including contacts. This can only be done at the Nokia Care Center - for free if the phone is still within its warranty period.

on my phone?

I have exactly the same problem with my music player, keeps saying 'updating library' then reverting back.
Another problem I can't read my messages or send any coz my phone keeps going blank. I phoned my phone company Virgin Media and they are going to send me a re-conditioned phone but i'm not sure whether to accept it or not. I've heard re-conditioned phones are scratched and all that.

You need to reflash your phone to be able to fix this problem up. It can be performed by sending it to the Nokia Care Centre and they should be able to flash it.
