nokia 6500c questions

Hello,

I have recently switched from e50 to 6500 classic. I am very impressed by the overall design of the new phone and also by the new software in it, as well as with its reponsiveness.

But what I really miss from e50 are these 2 things so far:

1) in e50, when I was searching through contacts and I've typed either surname or forename or nickname, it has been always searching in all names of each contact. In 6500 I have to remember how I have saved my contact in my contactlist, i.e. I have to remember if I have to type surname or forename. I have already tried to update my phone software to the latest version, but it still doesn't work. Would this be possible to work around somehow?

2) I couldn't find in 6500 an option to display, I'm not really sure by the name, "cellural info". It used to display my location basing on the BTSs I was connected to. Any ideas where can I find it?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated!

Re: nokia 6500c questions

E50 is based on the Symbian OS, 6500 is based on the Nokia OS or more famous as the S40 platform. This gives some advantages to the E50. So some functions may not be available in your new phone.
Answers
1.I don't think it is possible
2. Yes. It is Cell Info Display and it is available. Activate Active Standby mode. Then enter it from the standby menu and you should be able to see CELL INFO DISPLAY somewhere.

Thanks for your answer, I have found the cell info display. I know that this is not a symbian phone, but well, the feature I have described i my previous message is the most welcome, and I don't think it would be of much work to code it for S40.

Another thing which I am missing from my e50 phone is that the calendar/organizer doesn't contain todo notes, which were being present infinitely unless I have marked them done or removed them from list.

Is there any chance that these features could be included in the next firmware version?

Did you try connecting the suppliad Headset without going to the 'Enhancement' menu ?
