Re: nokia 6300

Nokia 6300 is kinda good.Sleek and slim factor looks makes it attractive.

PROS
-16M Colour Display
-Blue indicating led
-Mini-Usb Interface
-2.5mm Headphone -3.5mm plug included

CONS
-Measly Battery life
-Captures images 1200x1600(Portrait)instead of landscape.
-UMTS missing in action
-low quality 2MP Camera
-Captures 176x144 res.

But it packs a great punch.Highly recommended.
It can take up to 2GB Micro sd cards.(Phone comes with 128MB Micro sd card bundled).

Re: nokia 6300

I think it depends on the retailer or operator whether they will bundle the card or not.I'm sure Sim-Free/Unlocked N6300 will have 128MB cards bundled with it.

Re: nokia 6300

I work within the mobile phone industry, the phone does come with a memory card on some networks, if your looking at getting it from o2, play the "i've seen a better deal else where" they tend to try n give alot of things away for contracts...

See how it goes... as for buying the phone, it's one of the best sellers at the moment.

it's sleek and stylish design is somewhat compared towards the 8800 yet its features are much more advanced.

personal rating 9/10

Re: nokia 6300

Thanks sj_tmobile I will give it a try. The 8800 i think that is the one my wife has it is very nice but the keys are a wee bit small for me. Looking at the 6300 the keys look a bit bigger. Cheers Andy

Re: nokia 6300

Definately a good choice.

I work for t-mobile so i'm limited to what i can say without getting into trouble....

I had the 8800SE for around 2 weeks, it slipped out my pocket and hit my shoe. then gently tapped the floor to which..... the screen smashed....

WAS NOT IMPRESSED TO SAY THE LEAST

I'd say the 6300 is certainly more stable n alot more "droppable" than the 8800SE lol

Re: nokia 6300

The 6300 is very sleek and has a good screen. But no 3G and no stereo speakers. I use a 6233 and it has some of the loudest & clearest speakers I have heard. Great for hands free and to use as a b00mb0x ;-)

Re: nokia 6300

the 6300 has to come with memory card as most of the phones content is stored on that card - the phone only has 7mb onboard memory- i have this phone and had to move the content to the phone memory before putting in a larger non nokia memory card then had to move it over to new card ..hope this helps....jeep...

Re: nokia 6300 (2.5mm connector and rattle)

Some more feedback on the 6300...

* The 2.5mm AV connector is a real pain as its only compatible with the supplied HS-47 headset which is really poor quality. For the N95 Nokia changed to a 3.5mm so 1,000s of standard (ipod) headsets fit but in my view they messed up and failed to do the same on this phone.

* Some of the power switches develop an annoying loud rattle after a couple of weeks - which sounds like a screw has come loose inside the case. Not sure how this can be fixed.

* And the supplied email client is still Java and not native so it takes forever to start up. The music player is native and very quick now.

Re: nokia 6300 (2.5mm connector and rattle)

There is a headset (or adaptor) for the 5300 that allows you to plug in any 3.5mm headset to any Nokia with the 2.5mm jack. Check it out

Re: nokia 6300

Hi,

I'm using Nokia6300. It has internal phone memory of 7.8MB. But in MEMORY STATUS shown as below:

Free Memory 710KB
Gallery 1.1MB
Messaging 374KB
Applications 369KB
Bookmarks 2.0KB

Total used memory only 1.9MB, Could anyone find the answer where the rest of the memory hidden? And how to clear or refresh it to become free memory?

Re: nokia 6300

When we use the THEME, it also uses our precious phone memory too. You can try apply the THEME like 50Kb and 1.5Mb and compare the free space on your phone memory.
