Hi all...

Does anyone know how I can 'flash' my nokia 5610? Its been behaving badly, i think its a virus. help anyone.

no such thing as a virus on mobile phones. this has been argued and refuted by many organisations and independent reviewers, as the kernel on phones are very secure and not conducive to hacking attempts.

anyway, earlier firmware versions of the 5610 have known to have many bugs so this is probably the reason why your 5610 is acting funny. my suggestion is to first back up your data, then restore your phone to factory settings through the option in the phone menu. if this still doesn't help you, check online for a firmware update and install, if there isn't an update available, reinstall the current firmware version. failing that, take your phone to your local nokia care centre for them to take a look at it. please mark my post as being helpful to you, if you could, i need some more positive feedback

Hi guys. I think I have the same problems. I got new software installer from nokia by web and wanna install it, but I'm afraid of risks/All cos my device is no more under warranty and there no Nokia Service Centre in my country((((
Please tell me if you have uploaded and installed new software- how it works? is it necessary to have an internet connection while installing new software?

Hi,

Yes. It is essential as this is the only safe way of updating the phone. Be sure to have a stable internet connection throughout and UPS backup just incase of power outages. If your using a laptop, much better.

I'll chk with the solution that u have given as even my nokia 5610 is behaving in a very wiered manner since last two three days......first it shows me a blurred screen or a distorted screen...suddenly it gets blank and then gets automatically resotre to original state. However I m getting irritated by its behaviour. Hopes ur solution will work

Hope that will be addressed on the next firmware release. We just need to be patient. Although I consider the latest/recent firmware a big improvement over the latter ones.

Who can tell me is there is reason to upadte my firmware, looks like my phone will work worse than now.Seems like this phones releases without test
