Can anyone please help.

I have only had my phone a few days and it has been working perfectly until today when |I decoded to explore all the different functions.
I must have done something to it as now it's saying can't connect to network or can't find provider

I've put the simcard back in my old phone so that's ok

help please...!!! O(

Try to check if the phone has been set to flight mode? To change between profiles just go to MENU> SETTINGS> PROFILES> GENERAL(or any other except flight)> ACTIVATE.

thans for your reply.

I've just tried that and it's still saying no network coverage.

Oh dear I wish I'd never touched it now!!

Would it help if I restored to factory settings or would this wipe out all my data (sorry I'm a bit of a novice at all this!)

ps if I do restore is it the 123456 password?

The default security code is 12345.

There is a recent problem found on the following handsets: Nokia 6280, 6233 and 6131 which tends to loose out signal - although this has been rectified on a firmware update.

Try also removing the battery and sim then let it rest for a minute before placing it back.

I've just tried selecting network manually (it was on automatic) but after searching for ages it says 'no operator found'

Yeah, you can try it. May I know if you edited something under the security tab MENU> SETTINGS> SECURITY?

No I was just looking through all the different sections but didn't change anything in security

I've tried taking the battery and sim out but it hasn't made a difference

I'm a bit scared but will try the restore next

Sorry to ask this but I need to, did you got this phone brand new off the shop?

No I bought it second hand but it was working perfectly till I started going through all the menus

NO they don't
Again, a different sim card did work with it (and still does in my old phone) but now they both say no network coverage or no network found which is why I think I've done something stupid!

Haven't tried the restore yet but will if you think it might work

I suggest you can try restoring the settings first, before try anything else.

I believe it won't. Using the restore factory settings utility will not delete any personal data.

I've restored to factory settings but still have the same problem - do you have any other suggestions please?

It doesn't look like blacklisted for me, but I can see this is a relatively either a hardware or firmware problem. The problem might reside on the antenna itself - or it just needs a firmware update.

Make sure you meet the system requirements before proceeding and backup some of your important contents.

If the phone still does not show any improvements, I suggest you to send the phone to the Nokia Care Centre near you.

Thank you so much for all your advice, I will try the software updater first and then as you suggest if that doesn't work, take it to a Nokia provider.

I'm sure the phone isn't blacklisted as it has worked with 2 different sim cards and was fine until today.

I will post an update when it is all sorted out

Hit another problem as I don't have a cable with my phone so will have to get one to upload latest firmware, but having said that I've checked throu the manual and the phone and can't see where it would go.

May I ask another question?
My phone was unlocked to all networks - would resetting to factory defaults lock it again?
