Re: memory card not found

please make sure the memory card is inserted correctly, remove the memory card , and reseat it again in place just to make sure .
if the card was removed during an ongoing operation this may have corrupted the card, try to read the card on a computer with a card reader to test it.

the G symbol is shown when the packet data connection mode is set to "always online" and packet data service is available. you should change that to "when needed" through:

menu > settings > connectivity > packet data > packet data conn. > make sure that this is set to "when needed".

Re: memory card not found

ok then, some nokia 6500 slides have a problem with their back cover, this problem leads to the memory card not being recognized. you should visit the nearest nokia care point to have your phone checked , and back cover replaced if it's found that it was indeed a faulty back cover.

Re: memory card not found

I have EXACTLY the same problem. It is really annoying!
Same phone, same problem - is it a common problem for 6500 slides?

Re: memory card not found

i still think it's not an update issue and that it's related to your back cover. anyway you can update your phone through nokia sofware updater which is available through here :

please read the instructions carefully and follow them to have a successful update.

Re: memory card not found

yes you were right it is the cover...aftergoing through the threads i found one about the cover and how to fix the problem...you have to bend the cover very slightly to make sure the pin next to the camera lens fits in the hole, hey presto i have a memory card after all
