Trying to verify N72's originality using the ( *#0000# ) gives a different result than other nokia mobile versions. Why?

Re: Unique Code

Define "different"?  What exactly is it doing that you consider to be different?

Can you type out exactly what it tells you, or even better post a screen shot?

It may be that you have a counterfeit N72 or you may just be comparing it to a newer model.

Re: Unique Code

On the N72 with *#0000# you should see a pop-up window with at least three lines of text as follows:

V 5.0819.4.0.1

07-05-08

RM-180

What the version number is will vary depending on which version of the phone firmware you have.

The date on the second line is the date of when the firmware was created.

The RM-180 is the Nokia code name for the N72 hardware. In essence, they're the same thing "RM-180" means "N72" .
