Hi,

I can't figure out out to set the audio/vibrate reminder for missed calls/texts on the 6600 slide.

As it is now, every time I get out of the shower, or wake up or anything else, I have to take the phone out and physically check the screens to see if I've missed an important call or message.

Also, since this phone doesn't vibrate very strongly, you can miss a text if you happen to be walking at the time. That's why I really need to find where in the menus you set the reminder tones on.

Any hints?

There is no such audible reminder on any of the Nokia phones I've seen/used. On many, though, there is a visual reminder (flashing light etc.)

I really wanted to like this phone too. This is the first Nokia phone I've owned.

I can't imagine that calls and texts aren't important to most owners.

What do you guys do then? Just keep looking at your phones every hour or so, all day, and when you get out of the shower and when you get out of bed just to make sure there's nothing you've missed?

I'm so disappointed to have to send this phone back and never buy a Nokia again, I really love the look and the feel but at the end of the day, a mobile phone is about being able to be contacted.

Menu > Settings > Profiles


you should be able to customize your profile to notify you either with signal/chirp or via vibrate that it is coming. this is a s40 phone so i am not very familiar with that, but it is worth a try. let us know if this is what you were looking for

That defines the alert when the message arrrives.

What the OP wants is constant audible reminders after the fact so that the phone keeps on nagging you until you've read the messages or made anote of the missed calls.

No Nokia does this TTBOMK.

No series 40 nokias do it but S60's can do it with the help of 3rd party software.

The constant reminder isn't a very popular feature and only a few manufacturers use it. I think only samsung still has this feature, and possibly motorola.

I used to work with someone who had this feature enabled on their samsung and it was annoying as hell. Every two minutes their phone would beep to remind them of a missed message.

Give me nokia's visual reminder light any day!
