Will the Nokia 6500 Slide take a 8Gb memmory card as i have seen a good priced one.

So in theory my phone will take the memmory card but need facts befor i buy.So any 6500 slide users out there using a 8Gb card without probs ??

I'm using an 8gb sandisk right now in my Nokia 6500 slide. It says on the US sandisk site it is supported too, so buy with confidence.

I got the 8gb in a pack with the tiny card reader (as I believe ordinary card readers wont read the card) and I drag and drop items from my laptop onto the card.

I'm very pleased with the size and the amount I'll be able to get on the card.

*********Update********
After reading another post I checked the amount of memory the phone said was on the card. It comes up as 2.2 gb free memory and 1.4gb used memory, giving 3.6 gb total. It is obviously only recognising the 4gb. Perhaps it will be able to read the info on the other 4gb as suggested in another post, but if not a software update may work. If I find anything out I'll let you know.

Hi there i have a nokia 6500 slide and i have been told that the max storage card depends on the firmware of the phone. So if you could please tell me what firmware you are using as your 8gb memory card is working for you? *#0000# into the phone will tell you. Any help will be appreciated! Cheers.
