Having recently purchased a new nokia 6111 I was really excited. However I have found that if I save a picture that I have taken as a wallpaper then when I am dialling with zero or one I am connected to wap or voicemail. Is there anything that I can do? I have only had the one one week!

you will find this is the same for most nokia phones.

holding the 1 key will dial voicemail and the 0 key will connect you to the internet

This only happens when I have selected a photo as a wallpaper. I am not holding the key long enough for it to connect to the Internet just long enough as when you type in a manual phone number.

i am having the same problem!

i'm kind of glad is not just me!

when u press 0 it takes you straight to the internet even though u have only pressed it at a normal speed. it seems to think u have held down 0 (when u havent) when u have a photo as a wallpaper. does anyone know whether there is something u can change to sort this?

I'm having the same problem. Just touching the 0 key connects me to WAP. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

They might have a new firmware out that fixes this. Take your phone to service and ask for a new phone SW.

hi my daughters phone freezes on key 4 and keeps dialing voice mail. Has phone 5 weeks

yh and she sent it off for repair and they said she will have to buy a new one because its 'water damage' which cannot be possible as she takes great care also isnt it still under warranty? and even so i think nokia will be losing more and more customers as there are many problems with the nokia 6111. what shall we do?

Unfortunatley the guarantee does not cover for water damage.

The other route could be claiming thro your house insurance if your covered for mobile fones or bite the bullet and by an off line handset.

This kind of damage can occur while using the fone in wet conditions etc.

I have the Nokia 6111 also and the only issue I had was when the slide was extended sometimes the mic cut off ,which meant I could not hear the other person but they could hear me.

In connection to the other posts I can only repeat the advice given before. Take the fone to a nokia Repair centre for a firmware update to see if this cures the problems of freezing screens etc.

Funnily enough I work in an electrical retailer and we get a lot of phones that repair centres claim are "water damaged" even though they've never been near water.

I wonder are these guys just making an excuse for "I can't be arsed"?
