I have a new nokia 6111 and i am having trouble hearing people when i recieve or make calls. My flatmate has the same phone but does not have any problems, they volume control is up to 10 so its not that. anyone any ideas?

Do you still have the plastic on the screen if its new? sometimes it covers the ear piece and blocks sound. happened to me on my sony v600i. if not. get bthe speaker looked at in a service centre. maybe be volume control too. turn all volumes up to maximum during a call and loud speaker if you have one. see if that helps. hope so.

there is not plastic cover on it anymore. dont really know what else to try?

i would take it to a service centre and get the firmware upgraded or have the ear piece speaker replaced as faulty

will that cost me? i got the phone for practically nothing and dont want to be forking out for repairs?

if there is a problem with the phone itself, it should be covered under the warranty.
