Hi,
I've just discovered the same problem. However, there could be a way around gaining maximum use out of the available memory on the phone. According to the online user guide, the phone has 2 memories - one for your contacts list, text messages, etc, and another for items listed in the 'gallery' (this can be found in the main menu of the phone). The gallery appears to include pre-programmed items, such as ring tones and games, as well as stuff you put onto the phone youreself - like music files and photos. I experimented by deleting 2 photos, and when I went back into the music player, the available memory had increased accordingly (not by very much, as these were only small files).
Presumbaly if there were pre-programmed items in the gallery that you did not want, you could delete them and gain memory to use on things you do want - like music files.
