I'm using Nokia 5800 since August 2009. It creates a lot of trouble every week. I've found number of errors so far. The biggiest of all gp HANGING ISSUE. It gets hang frequently. Specially using MESSAGING & INTERNET SURFING. The latest error is that I'm unable to shift message memory from PHONE MEMORY to MEMORY CARD. Whenever I try to do so it shows a pop up message:UNABLE TO MOVE MESSAGE STORAGE. This is really annoying. Second error is that whenever I put my Nokia 5800 in pocket (placing it up side down) it automatically gets switch off after sometime (like whenever I drive, or walk) I've missed many important calls. I'm unable to find a solution.

I too purchased this phone in the month of August 2009 and have been facin repeated probems.. the most recent one being the messages r unable to shift from phone memory to memory card with an error message sayin "unable to move message centre" .

try the following

then try update firmware

.*#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.). (the default code is 12345)
