I've just updated my 2730 from 10.40 to 10.45 but in the Display settings
are still missing the foolwing functions: Screen saver, Power saver and Sleep mode .
No news also about the possibility to change the clock display.
It's incredible

@chanchan05
Re: To turn off sleep mode, go to Menu>Settings>Display>Sleep Mode.
There is no such option in my 2730 Classic.
@everyone else
I rang Nokia support, and was told there is no way to adjust the sleep mode\idle mode\power-saving time out.

Hi All,
do you know anything about that the Nokia would like to support in the future the "power saver" mode on 2730 calassic? That is very usefully if I can check a glance the missing call and time/date in the screen, without press a key...
Firmware updates are still expected for this device in the future?
Thanks!

Thank you! This is my first 2 series Nokia phone (I get this now from my company), in higher series this function is general.

Right - this is pathetic!!
I now have a 2730, software version 10.45
After 25 seconds, like everyone else, my screen goes totally blank. I've just upgraded (?) from a 10 year old 6310i which on glancing at the screen, told me the time, battery reserve, and more importantly, if the phone was on or not.
My 'new' phone tells me nothing, I don't know if its on standby, or if it's off. Even my first phone, a Motorola 8800x bought in 1989, 22 years ago (!!) had a flashing red LED on it to show it was working.
How the heck can phone technology moved back so much, and more importantly, how on earth can Nokia think this is acceptable? Is there some 3rd party software that will overcome this glaring FAULT? (or does anyone have another solution?)

I know this thread is as dead as a DoDo, but just in case anyone has googeld the same issue, here's an update..
Nokia contacted me and told me to look up their 'store locator', take it to a Nokia centre, and they can downgrade the software. Well, there are NO nokia centres in Northern Ireland. They have refused requests to simply send me the software to my phone - pathetic!!
The phone is now stuffed in a drawer as a useless ornament. Nokia use to be world leaders in phones, easy to see why now their once dominant position has been totally eroded. With each generation of phones they release, they use cheaper & cheaper parts, and the phones are increasingly poorer quality with them hoping that people will just throw them out after a few months.
To have software that you cannot alter to show you that the phone is actually working is ridiculous. I have now 'upgraded' to a 10 year old phone, built to last, and with an LCD screen that is permanently on. Will never buy Nokia again - they are now c**p.....
