Hi,
A colleague who owns the N97 mini has just installed maps, and after rebooting his phone, it won't start - it displays the white 'NOKIA' screen for approx 1 minute before switching off (it's fully charged). No key presses etc help, we can't get past the nokia screen.
He then asked me to reboot my N97 (not mini) - and sure enough have the same issue, however after several attempts at switching on, I've managed to get mine to start, by seemingly pressing random buttons - I've tried this a few times now, and by repeatedly pressing right on the D pad, enter, and the camera button, my phone starts OK.
I only received my phone back from repair yesterday, and it was freshly flashed with the latest '3' firmware (my colleagues N97 mini is a virgin branded phone), and OVI maps was a suggested update yesterday - nothing else has been installed on my phone since that.
Does anyone who's installed OVI maps with nav on their N97 fancy trying a restart....? I wouldn't reccomend in if you've got an N97 mini though!
Cheers,
Mick

not sure about my colleagues free memory amound, but I've just checked on mine, and there's 8mb currently free. There was no messages relating to insufficient space on C: during install.
Even so, with 8mb free on C:, I wouldn't of thought that would effect my phone starting up - roughly every third time my phone will start OK - otherwise, it'll just hang at the white NOKIA screen for approx 1 minute before powering off, or stay with the white NOKIA screen (I left it for over 5 mins before giving up)
Thanks for your reply :-)

I was the N97 mini user that had the initial problem, I had approx 190mb free on phone memory i.e. c:. I don't think the problem relates free space on c:\.
I did manage to get it powered on eventually by pressing random buttons on the phone when it was booting. at that point got a full backup. next time a rebooted was unable to get phone back on, so done a "four finger reset", hvae restore back up and installed updated maps, now seems to be working ok, fingers crossed!
