Hello everyone I just got my Nokia 5310. After much messing around, installing wallpaper, mp3's etc. I updated my firmware to the current one of 7.0.1

After update my phone completely resetted to the original layout. I lost all my data

How do I make backups? I mean backing up all the settings, messages, contacts etc etc.

you should've expected that , as this is a complete software update. also, NSU warns you to backup before you start updating.
anyway , what's done is done, in the future you can use nokia pc suite to backup all your information and files, and i advice you to do so on regular basis wether you're updating the phone or not.

when installed, just connect your phone, click on the backup icon, and the wizard should guide you through the process.

yes, it backs up everything including your settings.

OK How do I move the message and settings back to my nokia phone?

Also it doesnt back up contacts saved on your sim card does it?

to restore everything back , you can go through the same process, this time instead of clicking on "back up" , you will click on "restore".
i don't think it will back up contacts from your sim card as it will backup contents from phone and memorycard only.

Ok stuck again how do I transfer mp3's, images from PC to phone using the PC suit?

There is a little message on the left that says "Drag and Drop Content Here" When I do it says image unable to be transferred. What Im I doing wrong?


Also an additional help can someone link me to the nokia software updater where you type in the model code and it tells you if a firmware has been updated for your phone please. Can't seem to find it.

Oh doesnt matter I have fixed it now. Can transfer files.
