Hi,

I want to buy a new Nokia phone. My requirements are really limited - I am not interested in music, bluetooth, mms, gprs etc. A black and white phone is fine too.

However the phone should have a very high battery life - and a high talk time too.

Also, one thing for which I rely very much on my mobile phone is birthday alarm - if the phone has a facility of annually repeating birthday alarms, it'll be GREAT (something like the Birthday reminder facility found in calendar of all S40 phones).

A phone I had in mind was Nokia 1200 - but I am not sure if it has the birthday alarm I mentioned. http://www.nokia.co.in/A4823335

Yes, but I haven't seen any black and white S30 phone which as annual birthday reminder feature.

it is totally on your use and budget.there are lot of products what is ur main use depending on that.

As I said, I want a phone to be used just as a "phone". So nothing like music, video, internet etc. A simple black and white (or color) phone with a very high battery life and optionally birthday reminders.
Those are the only two requirements.

And ofcourse it should be a Nokia

Just because it has those features it doesn't mean you have to use them. You can't get much more basic than it.

You can check the user guide for the 1200 to see exactly what it can do:

Hmm the user guide does not mention anything about the Calendar feature. Guess I'll have to ask Nokia Care.
