I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET THE PUSH TO TALK SETTINGS FOR MY 6230I, DOES ANYONE KNOW THE SETTINGS OR WHERE I CAN GET THEM?

Hi latchlern!

You can get push to talk(PoC) settings from here: Nokia Setup Wizard. However, I just took a quick look there and PoC doesnt seem to be available in the UK.

Yep... the phone itself supports PoC but whether you can use it depends on whether your network supports the service. I don't think any networks in the UK support it yet though.

Orange support push to talk I beleive, or are planning to. Check their website.

No UK network does PTT yet, however, orange i beleive have it in the pipeline. (my smelly sources tell me)

I don't know anything about the handset mentioned, even if it has PoC or if it's some strange Orange software that's used. They definitely don't support Nokia handsets just now, though.

OK, update on this... from a FAQ on the Treo handset:

Does the Treo 600 support the push-to-talk feature?

The Treo 600 currently does not support this feature. Push-to-talk is a walkie-talkie like feature made popular by Nextel. Other carriers have started shipping phones that support this feature as well. There are rumors that some developers are working to create software that will enable the Treo to integrate with this technology.

I'm gonna assume Orange have added their own software for this one.

Orange's talknow is, as far as I know, a circuit switched push-to-talk type of a service, but I believe it is not PTT over a packet data connection (like Nokia's PTT version, or the now standardized OMA PTT by Open Mobile Alliance).
