Call Screening

Please I need help from experienced Nokia users. I have a Nokia N97 (first time user of Nokia, I have always used Sony Ericsson) and have been trying to set up a call screening tool that allows me to accept call only from a pre-defined set of callers. This  a routine facility in most other phones I have used and normally a subset of the Incoming Call Acceptance toolkit where I create a list of numbers and I can set my phone to accept calls only from the list or accept only numbers in my contact list only.

This is vital tool when you are in a key meeting or want to take a rest and you only need to be reached if there is a serious issue. That way you define your key personnel and accept call from them only, while the phone keeps a log of all other calls during that period (without allowing them come in) such that you can reach them later (after the meeting).

PLEASE HELP, before I throw away this Nokia phone for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please use plain text.

Re: Call Screening

Call screening is not a feature of the Symbian OS, and hasn't been a feature of Nokia phones since the early S30 models becausse market research showed that only a very small minority of customers were using it.

However, there are a wealth of cheap apps to manage calls available to manage calls, some more sophisticated than others, there should be some in the Ovi Store.
