Bluetooth data transfer to car navigation system

Can anyone help. I can sync my E90 to Toyota car nav system and can make and receive calls over the in-car hands free using a bluetooth connection. However I cannot seem to send my phone book to the car system. I get an error message each time. Can anyone offer a solution? Jim
