Does anybody know how if taking a backup of an older model phone (6230)using nokia PC suite. How can you then get the software to transfer all the infomation on to a newer model phone (N70)?

Under the backup options you have the choice to load a backup file into another phone. Not all files are always transferable from 1 phone type to another.

Hi, I backed up my contacts using nokia 6230i and now i no longer use the phone but use another version of nokia 3230. I need to know if there is a way i can use pc suite to tranfer my contacts to my new phone or even view the contacts on my laptop anf tranfer it using bluetooth to my phone. any software that can read the backup numbers so i do the transfer manually

Do you mean that you backed up 6230i with PC Suite ?

Yes thats what i mean. I thought backup susing pc suite can be tranfere to any nokia phone but it seems i was wrong. I meant I used nokia pc suite to back up my contacts on a 6230i

Key question is, do you still have the old phone ? If yes, make a backup with Pc Suite 6.81.13 and then transfer the backup to your new phone.

If you have made a backup with older PC Suite version, your backup is most likely only suitable to same phone model. It used to be so that in old PC Suite version the "backup" meant "to same phone/or at least model" and "content transfer" was a separate function and that created a file to PC that contained the data in a format that went over to any Nokia model.

ok thanks i don't have the old phone but a firend uses one so i will borrow it and tranfer the original backup to that phone and do the back up again
