I just bought 6600 fold and it is great, but I have noticed that when I press the back cover of the phone it makes this creaking or squeaking sound. Is that normal? Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

So far the answers that I've received from Nokia's customer support have been totally useless. When I asked about the flaw they advised me to switch on the light effects.. When I said the ligh effects don't work properly they gave me instructions on how to update my phone. Except that there are NO updates available. I've now asked them when they are going to release an update.. But most likely they'll ignore my question again and suggest something useless...

That's just poor customer service..

i bought the fone a week ago,,,,i need to knw..is the light problem u are facing is that there is a small lamp under the word nokia inthe front of the mobile(dnt knw really how to describe it but i mean is it the whole front screen light or only a small flash???)
as if it is this small falsh lighting every few sec i managed to turn it off by going to settings...lihgts...off rather than on!!
other than this i didnt find any problem in my phone

Yes, the problem is with the little light under the word Nokia.
But you are missing the point, of course you can switch the light effects off but then the light doesn't indicate missed calls or messages at all. (If the lights are off, you can't see whether the phone has e.g. received a message, without touching the phone)

But when the light effects are turned on, the light should not flash all the time, only then when it indicates missed calls or messages. Now it flashes all the time.

I know everyone is waiting on edge...

Well once again I called Nokia today to find out the progress, and to my surprize, they had no idea of any complaint even being lodged by anyone of the customer service staff...

Regardless to say, I had to go through everything again from scratch with them...

Customer Service is a joke with Nokia, as long as people are buying their phones they are happy...

I for one, am waiting for my iphone 3G to arrive...
Even though I went from the iphone (old one) to this 6600 fold, I think it was a bad move...

I am happy iphone is kicking Nokia out of the mobile arena, now we just need some more companies like HTC and SE to fight back, and then hopefully Nokia will realize they have employeed monkeys...

Will keep everyone updated... if anything ever happens...

This phone is not a Nokia Flagship, and even then those phones arent getting the updates they need...

This is just too bad.. I finally bought a Nokia because I thought the quality of their phones had gotten better...

Luckily it works to some degree with the long/short blinking..

I am having the same trouble, but most importantly my complain is that I cannot have the front display to show always the time/missed calls/sms. It's really useless if it can't do that. Is there a way for us to post a formal complaint?

Well everyone, its been done, I have just gotten myself a brand new HTC Touch HD.

I have thrown the Nokia in the bin, thats right, I didnt even think of selling it, why to aggrivate another person with the pain of wanting something only to find out it doesnt work.

I will no longer be following this thread. I hope the rest of you can either get the update, or sell off your phone and get something much better...

Myself, I droped my 6600 (from my hand, not high) and the screen just broke!! My previous phone, a Sharp, has been droped, kicked and thrown a thousand times over he 4 years I had it --hever produced a problem... What can I say... The 6600 is very heavy and 'solid' as it seems. A simple drop caused this serious damage

I have just informed Russian support service about "light effects" problem.

I too have a Nokia 6600 fold and really don`t understand what use the light function is, other than to be very annoying, would make much more sense for it to indicate an alert of sum kind ie; text messages etc.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue with perhaps a download.....?

Unfortunately, I have this problem too. I have just update the cell firmware to the last 05.60 version and it seems to be useless.

As I see, the last post was month ago.Does anyone have a solution?

I bought an 6600 fold a couple of months ago, updated the software straight away, and have the same problem with the light.  My wife has a approv 3YO 6300 with external blue lights thatwork perfectly, indicating at glance missed calls and messages.

 I'ts intersting to see how poorly Nokia have responded to this query; don't they monitor their own supprt discussions?
