Hi, I am trying to set a particular number to use the silent profile when it calls (nuisence caller), however I do not seem to be able to do this. I have even created a group, put them in that group and 'marked' it in the 'silent' profile.

Can anyone help please as I am sure Nokia must support this if Motorola do!

You can do this (in firmware v. 5.5 at least) and it is pretty easy (no need to set up any groups) although it buried a bit in the menus.

Go to the contact list, select the contact you want to set the tone for, press details, options,add detail, tone, open gallery, and then just navigate to the tone you want and select it.

Thanks for that but therein lies the problem, I do not want a tone, I want it to be silent and therefore it has to be a profile? Any further thoughts?

I had the same problem, but I solved it
It's really ridiculous, as my old 3310 had the option of muting a single contact, by selecting "Silence" instead of a ringtone.

I exactly did what Montagu said, I selected a ringtone for the contact who I wanted to mute. The trick is, that I created a small mp3 file, which is totally empty, named it "silence" and uploaded to the phone. It behaves like a normal ringtone, and I can add it to any contacts, their calls will be silent
Too bad: I can't silent message tones by contact.

I think Nokia should consider this option, it's very useful sometimes...

Fab, thanks, have done this but using a 'blank' recording as it was quicker!
