6288 Problem

Hey,

My nokia 6288 has a problem. I turn it on and it comes up asking for my pincode, and it can stay at that screen forever, but once you put the pincode into the phone, and it gets to the background, then switches off, then back onto a white screen with just the battery thing up the top left. Then it goes to the background for a split second, then off, then background. this happens about 4 times then just turns off.

Please help!

Re: 6288 Problem

If you can, try to update/reload your phones software using the Nokia Software Update application and your computer with a datacable.

If this does not work for you then you need to take your phone to a Nokia Service Center when a technician can reload the firmware of your phone.

This will hopefuly resolve your problem.

Re: 6288 Problem

I cannot connect the phone to the computer using the datacable as the phone will not stay on and thus meaning it will not connect. Will the Nokia service center charge me for this? If so how much because I am a poor man.

Re: 6288 Problem

If your phone is still under the manufacturer warrenty then Nokia will fix this for you free of charge. If you are on a network with a contract that provides you an extended warrenty you can take the phone to a repair shop of your network where they can then fix the phone for you.

Re: 6288 Problem

I bought the phone off a friend that has moved over seas, and I can't find a way to contact him about a warranty so how much will this cost me?

Re: 6288 Problem

Your phone has an IMEI number - it contacts FAC and TAC codes that a Nokia Repair Shop can use to see when the phone was made and if it still falls under their limited manufacturers warrenty.

Please find this out from your local Nokia Repair Shop. If it is still under their warrenty they will fix it free of charge. If not the cost may vairy.
