6030-Ringing Tone and Tone duration

Hi, I'm new to this so my question is basic.
I have just got the 6030 on O2. Can it have a proper ring ring instead of a tune?
Also the calling duration before it goes to missed call is very short if you dont have it to hand, can this time be extended?
Your help appreciated.

I'd love to know the answer to this one too, but I don't have a 6030. I have a 6234.

This question has been answered many times. The ring duration is a network setting, determined by your operator, and you cannot change it on the handset.

Many Thanks for that, I did search the posts.
What about the ring tone rather than a tune, is that some kind of download?

Thankyou Again

On the 6230 there is quite a big choice under Settings>Tones>Ringing Tone, some of which are just rings rather than tunes. I guess the 6030 has a similar menu. You just have to go through them and see what you like!

That's not strictly true, it is possible on all the Nokia handsets I've used to change the duration of the timeout before dumping the call to voicemail.

My current o2 UK pay monthly timeout was set at 15 seconds which was way too short for me.

On my 6233 (not sure if the 6030 is remotely the same) the setting is under:

Menu > Settings > Call > Call Divert > Voice Calls > Divert if not answered > Activate > To voice mailbox > Delay time

You can pick upto 30 seconds.

Yes, I can change it there, but with my operator at least (Vodafone) it doesn't make any difference. Call me cynical, but operators get extra revenue if a voicemail is left!

They do.

Not sure if it is possible on Vodafone UK PAYT, but on contract you use to be able to dial *#104# SEND to get the voicemailbox number then dial **61*+xxxxxxxxx*10*yy# SEND (xxxxxxxxx being your mailbox number and yy being the length of delay from 5 to 30 seconds).
