Hey!
My GFs Nokia 5310 is failing. She never dropped it or anything like that, the problem just was there one day.
(I will translate the menus and options I encounter from Swedish, so they might be a bit off, but I think you'll understand.)
When I start the phone the Nokia logo shows up, then it asks if I'd like to use the phone without a sim card, since I don't have any in it when trying to repair it. The two options available is Accept and Discard/Reject. I can stay here for how long I want without the phone freezing or shutting down.
So, lets press Accept!
Now the handshake and welcome message shows. After that I get to the Time and Date settings, since I've had the battery out of the phone for a while. Here I can barely navigate, and the theme is failing as well, switches from a blue theme(default?) to the pink one that was installed when she got the phone. (the pink 5310 comes with a pink theme installed, the red comes with a red theme installed, and so on.)
After that the display shuts down, then back on, with the blue theme, then the pink theme comes on, then it blinks again and the blue theme is on, chaning to pink and so on for about 3 - 4 times, then the phone shuts down.
Does the phone have a hard reset button? The warranty just ended, and since this phone is pretty cheap it's not worth to get it to a repair shop.
Also I tried to install new firmware, plugged the phone in to the computer, turned it on. But as soon as it starts blinking it disconnect and connects back and forth, so I never got the Nokia Software Updater app to find the phone. And if I stay at the start(use phone without sim card menu) where it doesnt shut down, I dont get any connection between the computer and phone at all!
Any solution? I'm really thankful for any help!
