I have a 5230 on contract with Orange. When I call voicemail, I am asked to enter my PIN followed by the #. I press the "dialler" button and the keypad appears.
However, the screen shows the following message in the text box: "DTMF number:"
When I enter my number, it is not recognised and the call times out.
Please advise me how to remove the DTMF message, or how to work around this.

Hope you are tapping the CALL icon after the PIN and # ...

I thought I made it clear - but obviously not...
I call voicemail, and get a message, etc...
When I TRY to enter my PIN - the 'phone does not recognise that I am trying to enter my PIN - and the call times out.
I need to get the 'phone to recognise my keypad entries on voicemail.

I also should have said, I have had this handset for 18 months - and this problem only started last week. It's not that I don't know how to call my voicemail!!

I am having the same problem on my N8. Once into voicemail the keypad makes no noise and sends no tones so voicemail doesn't get my input. Nobody in Nokia seems to understand. Anyone?

I have just resolved this on my 'phone. Try disabling your voicemail pin no. using another phone and see if it works. Did for me.
