5220 Radio problem

Hi,

I bought 5220 yesterday .. but i have some doubt about the radio option in that.

After i pluged headset in jack and turned on Radio.. its fine via headset..., but when i wanted to have speaker mode ON with headset in , nothing comes up.

Choose radio option and choose radio station with headphone.

From Options > Turn speaker ON.

Its rather confusing, right? Nah, one can't use the headphone & the speaker at the same time. Nor one can use the FM radio of the phone without the headphone plug in, because the wire of the headphones serves as the antenna of the FM radio chips. The speaker->On is only applicable for hands free operation of the phone on call/receive, playing audio files but not for listening to radio broadcast; besides there is an interlock mechanism that disable the speaker when one  plug in a headset.

that is not entirely true Android, you are mostly correct but one of my previous phones (6288) which runs on same S40 platform was able to play the FM radio broadcast through the loudspeaker. true, you had to plug in the earphones to act as an antenna, and when the loudspeaker is activated you cannot hear the FM radio through the earphones. but it is possible to listen to FM radio through the loudspeaker, I have done it before. in the case of this 5220, I presume this can only be a bug in the firmware, which is actually the most probable cause. all the user can do is wait for a firmware update, or either restore the phone to factory settings, or last resort go to the nearest Nokia Care Centre for them to look at it

p.s. just to be sure, i just tried FM radio and activated loudspeaker and it worked on my N78
