2710c-2 Nav Edition "Sensor"

[ Edited ]

I just bought this cellphone in the Netherlands Firmware V6.69 (03-22-11 RM-586).

It has the following items: Settings>Phone>Sensor-settings>Sensor>

Sensor on/off,

Vibration Feedback on/off,

Clock analog/digital.

The settings are not described in the manual. I experimented with these settings, but could not notice any change in any app or screen of the phone.

Then I started the navigation app. Within this app (to start to navigate)  you're ask to twist and turn the phone to set map rotation. I tried it many times, having the sensor setting set to ON, every time finally a window appears saying that map rotation failed.

I wonder if the 2710c-2 has a sensor that can be activated. Does anyone know (for sure)?

If you have activated the sensor, and also the vibration feedback, you can hit with your finger the upper area of the screen and the phone will show you the clock for one second (you also will feel a shaking). This function is useful when you are in a meeting with your phone on the table and just want to check the time with discretion.

Re: 2710c-2 Nav Edition "Sensor"

Thank you Tuvo,

I tried it and It does the things you described. Nice gadget, but in meetings I look at my watch with discretion. To me it is more annoying that people are watching at and playing with their cellphones on the table in meetings. But that's very personal, of course

The sensor doesn't have anything to do with map rotation in the Ovi Maps app, it seems. Map rotation still doesn't work.
