Hi, I have a Nokia 5800 in Spanish. When I cliek desgaras (Download) I am promoted to install OVI Store v.1.05-508 but halfway through this bombs out with application already installed.
I tried deleting the OVI STORE (802kB), OVI STORE CLIENT (450kB) and OVI STORE CLIENT (17kB), then trying again but no improvement.
Can anyone help? I can acces the store via the browser ..

I have the exact same problem! How did you fix this? The first part of the installation completes, then on the second part it stalls about 55% of the way through then an "Update error" occurs!
Help me please! ![]()
PS. Trying to install v1.05.611 (latest version as required)

Hi, the problem disappeared when I installed the .611 However, I just launched OVI store and it once again says there is a new version but then reports installed as 611 and new version as 611..
Launching OVI store from the download icon on the main menu seems to put the app in an endless loop of update- it always reports there is a new version even when the versions are the same. If you try to download, you get the error and you cant access the Store until you delete all the files and install again.
My phone is Orange branded so I'm stuck on v25 of the OS. I believe the 'Download' icon has gone on v40 I really do wish Nokia would push the operators to update the branded OS.
People don't think "my Orange phone is **bleep**"- they think "this Nokia phone is **bleep**."

Well that is what mine does. When you say 'delete all the files' do you mean uninstalling via Application Mgr. and deleting the downloaded installation (.sisx) file?

the files I removed are those in the first posting:
OVI STORE (802kB), OVI STORE CLIENT (450kB), OVI STORE LAUNCHER (17kB)
if you delete these files and press the Download icon, an acualization is reported and you can install 611. The next time you start OVI Store, do not try to update or cancel when it says do you want to update 611 to 611.
Only when there is an update >611 can you proceed.
Amazing...

Huh, I don't get all those packages, I can only delete 'Ovi Store', not the 'Ovi Store Client' or 'Ovi Store Launcher' packages. Do I need to manually delete them via a computer or something?
Also, I don't have Download! any more because I upgraded to v40.0.005, bringing an old version of Ovi Store with it. Of course, I can't get to the Ovi Store any more because I need the new version, which I can't install.
And yes, I've reinstalled the firmware plenty of times, in various combinations with both the mem card in and out, etc.

I have the same problem -new phone software version (40.0.005.C03.01) doesn't allow me to install ovi client (611, as well installation process stops after reaching something about half of the second installation from downloaded ovi package).
Can someone have working sollution to this problem? I've heard tha sometimes (but not always) hard reset helps, but I would like to avoid this crucial "solution".

I am an owner of E71 with firmware 400.21.013 .Last days , i am trying to use ovi store, but i can't. It says that needs update, i do update , but at the end of installation it returns an error code : -5 .
I am not able to use OVI store at all. I hope Nokia to solve this problem as soon as possible

I eventually managed to solve the problem, but it DID involve a hard reset! This is the process I took:
Hope this works for everyone else :-)

Hi, could you pls elaborate on "Do a clean reinstall of current firmware (40.0.005 in my case)" I didnt think this was possible with software update. I have only ever been able to update and not refresh (or downgrade)
With the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) you should be given the option to reinstall the firmware on the device. After running the NSU (scanning for updates) it will tell you that you have the latest firmware, and it will give you the option to reinstall.
Maybe you need to get the latest version of NSU?

The "HARD RESET THE PHONE" trick, worked just fine.
My phone has just been resurrected using this trick.
